Bedroom Diorama

Art summative 2019

Other than the prompt of "a room in a house” every student had complete freedom to create a diorama for the 12th grade art class collective installation for our end of year exhibit. I based my piece off my bedroom in a scene where my stuffed dinosaur, Bernard, protects me from a beast emerging from my cupboard. The beast is loosely based on a monster described in my favourite childhood books, and is made from polymer clay and paint. As one of my first full dioramas, this was a major learning experience for me, primarily learning that I did not need to cut out and glue down each individual wood panel for the flooring.
